Quasistatic, Fatigue, impact, extreme temperatures – cryogenic
Designers and manufacturers of structures which are exposed to stresses and varying environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, vacuum, etc. require good knowledge about mechanical properties of the envisaged materials to guaranty reliable function. AAC offers a large variety of static and dynamic mechanical tests for different classes of materials such as metals, plastics, composites and ceramics. Tailored test methods for the determination of the relevant mechanical properties for different material classes like tensile, fracture toughness and fatigue crack growths for metals, direction dependent tensile, compression and shear for composites or bending for honeycomb panels in accordance with the relevant international standard are available. The different static and dynamic material properties can be measured in a wide temperature ranging covering cryogenic conditions of 4K up to high temperatures of more than 2600°C. Beside the tests on coupon level, static and dynamic load tests on structural parts are offered.
